A taste of summer holidays

Just received my copy of the super size Monocle Mediterraneo, the latest offering from Winkcontent. A bit of stimulating reading for the summer. It's great to have a piece of crisp fresh print that smells good too.

Making a stand

There is a bit of campaign running in Marske by the Sea to save the beach from being developed with of all things – a playground! Surely the beach, which is vast, is a big enough playground for anyone. The playground is planned on a slipway where fishermen have kept their boats and tractors for decades if not centuries. Sometimes I think local authorities are mad.

Thinking ahead?

It's been a busy and exciting few days in London talking to businesses about sustainability projects and what constitutes fit for purpose communications - tough times doesn't mean that communication has to stop it's just about maximising cost effective and very creative solutions. The client communication teams are envisioning two years ahead and are building strategies to reach that goal. It's quite inspirational to talk about where we want to be, not where we are now.

Sent from my iPhone4 because I'm not in front of my MacBook Pro.

Why can't we have more like this?

Dead interesting post by Dan Hill about an architectural gem, 10 Hills Place, London, by Amanda Levete Architects.

It’s just off Oxford Street and home to the London HQ of Japanese advertising giant Dentsu (and local firm Attik). The Dentsu website is pretty cool also.

There's much more here. Thanks Dan for the story.
